Photography Workshop in Sacred India
Our 2018 photographic workshop in India was a great success and we plan to announce the 2019 itinerary shortly. Over two weeks in November, a small group went on an amazing journey, engaging with places that embody the essence of India's vibrant culture--ancient temples and palaces, ghats of holy rivers, bustling streets and markets, and among the camels and traders of the Pushkar Fair.
A hybrid workshop and tour, we experienced the holy pilgrimage town of Vrindavan, photographing in temples and on the banks of the Yamuna River, the incomparable Taj Mahal, we floated over rural Jaipur in a hot air balloon at dawn--leading us to the Pushkar Camel Fair in the desert of Rajasthan. We spent a few days photographing on the fairgrounds and around town: haggling traders, camels, horses, men with cobras in baskets, devotion on Pushkar Lake, all while pushing our work beyond the usual cliches. Throughout our travels, participants photographed, edited work, and received personalized attention from Andy as they developed their creative vision and explored many interesting contexts and environments.
This workshop is intended for advanced amateurs and professionals, and offers a wonderful opportunity to get to know India in an intimate way. Andy has worked extensively throughout the country over the last 15 years, and is supported by some of India’s premier travel guides and professionals. If you have a group that is interested in joining him for a workshop, in India or beyond, please contact the studio to create a personalized photographic trip.
