On Clichés

As photographers we are taught to avoid clichés at all costs...to find our own voice and communicate something that is uniquely ours. Yet despite this advice, I still appreciate a fine sunset now and then...especially sitting here back in frigid Minnesota, fondly remembering the warm Mexican light of Los Troncones. What do you think, is it alright to break the rules once and a while and act as a mere conduit of nature's beauty? To create a photograph simply for it's own sake when the conditions are right? How about a few times during the same evening? Honestly, I can't resist at times. Oh, and no Photoshop here...
